Another one from the archives! The inspiration for this sweatshirt hack came from a "I can make that" moment at a cute little boutique in Minoqua, WI, out shopping around with my sisters during a very rainy cabin week. Here are the steps... or what I can remember of what I did four months ago, ha.
I cut the sweatshirt open along the side seams to take it into a more flattering shape. While it was open I pinched the middle where I was going to put the zipper.
I am pretty sure this is a scrap from the side/under arm. I used this scrap to cut a long thing strip to make a ruffle for next to the zipper.
This is how I ruffled the strip and sewed it to the zipper opening at the same time.
Here is the finished product... sorry the picture wouldn't rotate. Better than the finished sweatshirt however, is my wedding dress gently schlopped on the back of my office chair with about a 1/2 foot of floor scuz embellishing the bottom!!! hahaha!! Memories right?! Who would want to wash those memories away down some random dry cleaner's drain? Not me!
I LOVEed this cabin hacked sweatshirt the moment you put it on at my cabin! YOU MADE THAT?? Haha! You are so creative! Good work!!! Now teach me...I just bought a zipper ;)
